Zwischen dem 24. und 27. Oktober veranstaltet die galerie KUB das Internationale Performancekunst Festival „blauverschiebung“. Damit versammelt sich zum sechsten Mal die Internationale Performancekunst Szene in Leipzig.
Auch in diesem Jahr werden wir mit unserem Newcomer – Programm Neuankömmlingen in der Performancekunst einen adäquaten Präsentationsrahmen bieten, wichtige Kontakte und natürlich ein Publikum, das in Leipzig nach sechs Jahren internationale Performancekunst inzwischen zu einem Kenner der Materie gehört. Als Gäste können wir in diesem Jahr den ägyptischen Performancekünstler Omar Ghayatt in der Messestadt begrüßen. In letzterer Zeit legt Omar Ghayatt sein Augenmerk auf die Spannungen, denen wir in einer globalisierten Welt gegenüberstehen. Er erforscht den viel diskutierten „culture clash“ zwischen dem Westen und dem Orient. Sein neuestes Projekt „Wenn ich nicht Ägypter wäre, …“ ist ein Spiel an der Grenze zwischen Fiktion und Realität, zentriert um die universelle menschliche Tendenz, Hoffnungen und Träume auf ein Anderswo zu projizieren.
Als weitere internationale Gäste erwarten wir mit Irma Optimist, Gustaf Broms, Jiri Suruvka, und Maline Casta aus Finnland, Schweden und der Tschechischen Republik.
Aus Deutschland dürfen wir unter anderem Jörn Burmester, Florian Feigl, Joy Harder und Armin Chodzinski begrüßen. Jörn Burmester ist einer der Macher des Performer Stammtischs Berlin. Mit Florian Feigl wird einer der Begründer und Organisatoren des „Month of Performance“ in Berlin nach Leipzig einreisen und uns an seiner Kunst und seinen Erfahrungen als Organisator von Kunst teilhaben lassen. Joy Harder ist Gründungsmitglied der Produktionsplattform (e)at_work und des Performancekunst-netzwerks „Emanuelle“ beteiligt sie sich an Gruppenperformances und Installationen. Armin Chodzinski arbeitet am Verhältnis von Kunst und Ökonomie, dass sich – wie er sagt – im Stadtraum destilliert.

International Performancefestival Leipzig
Between October 24th and 27th the KUB gallery organizes the International Performance Art Festival „blauverschiebung“. Thus gathered for the sixth time the international Performance Art scene in Leipzig.
Also this year we continue our Newcomer – Program. Newcomers we can provide an adequate framework for there performance art, important contacts and of course an audience that is now – after six years part of international performance art in Leipzig – an expert on the subject. One of our guest of honor we expect this year the Egyptian performance artist Omar Ghayatt in the fair city. More recently, Omar Ghayatt puts his attention to the tensions that we face in a globalized world. He explores the much-discussed „culture clash“ between the West and the Orient. His latest project „If I were not Egyptian …“ is a play on the border between fiction and reality, centered around the universal human tendency to project hopes and dreams on an elsewhere.
As more international guests we expect to Irma Optimist, Gustaf Broms, Jiri Surůvka and Maline Casta from Finland, Sweden and the Czech Republic.
From Germany we warm welcome Jörn Burmester, Florian Feigl, Joy Harder and Armin Chodzinski. Jörn Burmester is one of the makers of the Performer Stammtisch Berlin. Florian Feigl one of the founders and organizers of the „Month of Performance“ in Berlin to travel to Leipzig and let us share in his art and his experiences as an organizer of art. Joy Harder works since 2006 as a freelance artist and performer of thematic and conceptual series and in interdisciplinary research projects. As a founding member of the production platform (s) at_work and network performance art „Emanuelle“ will participate in group performances and installations. Armin Chodzinski works on the relationship between art and economy, that – as he says – distilled in the urban space.
